What is Highland Dance?

Highland Dance is a traditional form of dance originating from Scotland. It incorporates strength, stamina, technique, and agility.

In the present day, Highland Dance is a solo competitive sport that all ages and genders may participate in. Many dancers are also involved at a recreational level.

Highland dancing involves pre-determined steps and dances that all dancers learn. However, opportunity for choreography is offered.

What is ScotDance British Columbia?

ScotDance British Columbia (SDBC) is the provincial affiliate to ScotDance Canada and is the governing body of Highland Dance for BC dancers.

SDBC is a non-profit organization that oversees competitions, performances, events, and meetings for BC dancers and professionals.
